The Nature Center is committed to building a foundation of knowledge, understanding and appreciation of the intrinsic value and aesthetic qualities of the natural world while instilling a sense of responsibility and stewardship for the natural world in the global community.<\/p>\n<p>We offer several membership levels.\u00a0 All renew annually and include many benefits.\u00a0 Members receive:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Subscription<\/strong> to <em>The Ovenbird, <\/em>Pfeiffer\u2019s newsletter,\u00a0delivered to you digitally to save trees!<\/li>\n<li><strong>Free <\/strong>or discounted admissions at many other nature centers across the country, and discounts at their gift shops! Get the <a href=\"https:\/\/natctr.org\/membership\/reciprocal-program\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">full list of reciprocal centers.<\/a><\/li>\n<li><strong>Free <\/strong>or discounted admissions to Pfeiffer Nature Center programs or activities!<\/li>\n<li><strong>Invitations<\/strong> to Member-Only events!<\/li>\n<li><strong>Satisfaction<\/strong> of knowing you are an integral part of Pfeiffer Nature Center!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><span style=\"color: #4b4225;\">Our memberships fit any budget. \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/pfeiffernaturecenter.org\/nature-blog\/become-a-pfeiffer-nature-center-member\/\">Join online now!<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Adopt A Tree<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This <a href=\"http:\/\/pfeiffernaturecenter.org\/nature-blog\/adopt-a-tree\">unique educational program<\/a> for school-aged children in grades 3-5 offered each spring is available entirely due to the generosity of local sponsoring businesses and individuals.<\/p>\n<p>Individuals and businesses can sponsor one of our special old growth trees helping to ensure the continuation of this important educational program, encouraging elementary school children\u2019s connection to and care of the environment.\u00a0 Tree adoptions begin at $150 a year.\u00a0 Trees are marked with hand-crafted copper identification tags listing the tree name along with the name of the sponsor.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Creating a Lasting Tribute<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You can honor your family and friends in ways that will have lasting impacts on Pfeiffer Nature Center and therefore the local community.\u00a0 Gifts can be memorials or tributes to the accomplishments of someone dear to you, and all gifts will be acknowledged in our newsletter.<\/p>\n<p>Gifts to the <strong><em>Kay <\/em><\/strong><strong><em>Pfeiffer<\/em><\/strong><strong><em> Gerkin Endowment Fund<\/em><\/strong> are maintained and managed separately from our operating funds.\u00a0 The principle in this fund is retained exclusively for investments and income generation, with only interest and dividends available to support our ongoing activities.\u00a0 Check with your financial or legal advisor to name Pfeiffer Nature Center in your estate planning.<\/p>\n<p>Memorial gifts may be made to our <strong>sugar bush expansion project<\/strong>.\u00a0 We plant sugar maples on our Eshelman property annually.\u00a0 While donors will not be able to identify \u201ctheir\u201d tree, they will have the benefit of knowing that their gifts provided a source of ongoing income.\u00a0 Maple seedlings are $35 each.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Support Our Fundraising Efforts<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>June is National Trails Month and Pfeiffer Nature Center celebrates this wonderful occasion with our annual <a href=\"http:\/\/pncwoodswalk.dojiggy.com\">Woods Walk fundraiser.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Each year, dozens of volunteers are involved in the creation of festive <a href=\"http:\/\/pfeiffernaturecenter.org\/nature-blog\/programs-events\/holiday-wreaths\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">holiday wreaths<\/a>, constructed of natural plant materials gathered and dried throughout the year.\u00a0 These beautiful wreaths raise funds that help support the many programs of Pfeiffer Nature Center.\u00a0 Wreath orders begin in October each year with the wreaths distributed in November, just in time for the holidays.<\/p>\n<p>You can be assured your donation is going to a not-for-profit when you look at <a href=\"http:\/\/dynamodata.fdncenter.org\/990pf_pdf_archive\/161\/161557741\/161557741_200906_990PF.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">our most recent IRS 990-PF<\/a> and our <a href=\"http:\/\/pfeiffernaturecenter.org\/nature-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/IRS-Determination-Letter.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">IRS Determination Letter.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>To learn more about how you can support Pfeiffer Nature Center, please <a href=\"http:\/\/pfeiffernaturecenter.org\/nature-blog\/contact-us-2\/#spot\">contact us<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"IRS Tips for Charitable Contributions\" href=\"http:\/\/www.irs.gov\/uac\/Eight-Tips-for-Deducting-Charitable-Contributions\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Internal Revenue Service Tax Tips: Eight Tips for Deducting Charitable Contributions<\/a><\/p>\n<p><script type=\"text\/javascript\">\/\/ <![CDATA[\nvar gaJsHost = ((\"https:\" == document.location.protocol) ?
