Print copies must be <strong>sized to fit in standard frames<\/strong> ( 4&#215;6, 5&#215;7, 8&#215;10, etc). Photos entered for the<strong> contest<\/strong> <strong>will be judged<\/strong> while photos entered for the <strong>show<\/strong> <strong>will not be<\/strong> <strong>judged<\/strong> and will be for display only.\u00a0 Please fill out the appropriate agreement form when submitting photos. Pfeiffer Nature Center staff and board members may enter photos for the show only.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>Locations where photos must be taken:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Lillibridge Property: <\/strong>1974 Lillibridge Road, Portville.&nbsp; <strong>Eshelman Property: <\/strong>1420 Yuba Dam Road, Portville.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>Four Contest\/Show Categories (ALL photos must be from <\/u><\/strong><strong><u>Pfeiffer Properties)<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Flora<\/strong>&#8211; Anything plant- or fungi-related.<br><strong>Fauna<\/strong>&#8211; Anything wildlife- or animal\/insect-related, including your dog(s) enjoying an on-leash walk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Pfeiffer Icons<\/strong> \u2013 Photos that show one of four notable \u201cicons\u201d that represent Pfeiffer (The Cabin, Wendy\u2019sTree, the Pavilionat Lillibridgeand thePond at Eshelman).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Scenery<\/strong>-Anything landscape or view related.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please note: <strong>By law<\/strong>, photos of <strong>people<\/strong> need written <strong>permission<\/strong>, signed <strong>by the person<\/strong>, to exhibit in public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>Contest and Show Rules:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"1\"><li>All photographs must be taken at one of the <strong>Pfeiffer Nature Center <\/strong>properties by the<strong> entrant.<\/strong> Photographs taken elsewhere or submitted on behalf of another person are not eligible.<\/li><li>Each participant, contest or show, may enter a maximum for four (4) photos from any combination of the four categories.&nbsp; Photos can all be entered under one category or under multiple categories.&nbsp;<\/li><li>The <strong>Contest Agreement Form or Show Agreement Form<\/strong> and <strong>Printed Photographs<\/strong> must submitted together to Pfeiffer Nature Center no later than <strong>August 27<sup>th<\/sup>, 2021<\/strong> by mailing all materials to Pfeiffer Nature Center PO Box 802, Portville, New York 14770 or you can call the administration office at 716-933-0187 to make an arrangement to drop them off at the Pfeiffer Nature Center office. If you are submitting more than one photograph, please submit your photos (up to 4) ALL AT ONCE, as prints.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Each print entry must be submitted <strong>in a protective covering on photographic paper in a standard framing size<\/strong> (for example: 3.5&#215;5, 4&#215;6, 5&#215;7, 8&#215;10, up to 11&#215;14). The \u201cready to hang\u201d size must not be larger than 14\u201d on the longest side, so we have room to hang everyone\u2019s work. We will frame the submission and you will be allowed to keep the frame.&nbsp;<\/li><li>All <strong>contest<\/strong> submissions must be accompanied by a check for the <strong>entry fee<\/strong> (see #10 below), for <strong>show<\/strong> submissions, that will not be judged, there is<strong> no<\/strong> fee.<strong>&nbsp; All<\/strong> contest <strong>and<\/strong> show participants must include <strong>contact information, <\/strong>and a<strong> signed agreement form <\/strong>(attached). For persons <strong>under 18 years of age, a parent or legal guardian must sign<\/strong> the contest\/show agreement form for participation.&nbsp; If people are present in the photos, you must include the signed permission form.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Photographs may be taken with any equipment and at any skill level. Cell phone snapshots are as welcome as photos taken with high-end equipment.<\/li><li>Contest photographs will be judged by experienced photographers for <strong>originality, creativity, focus, composition<\/strong>, and <strong>overall theme<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Both <strong>color and black &amp; white<\/strong> photographs are welcome.<\/li><li>For<strong> Contest <\/strong>participants<strong>, 4 Prizes will be awarded prior to the event<\/strong> including \u201c<strong>Best in Show,<\/strong>\u201d and<strong> first place<\/strong> in <strong>each of the four categories<\/strong>. We will have a<strong> 5<sup>th<\/sup> prize<\/strong> awarded by a <strong>public vote<\/strong> at the event itself, so be sure to attend the event and vote for your favorites!<\/li><li>For <strong>contest participants<\/strong>, please provide an<strong> entry fee of $5 per photograph<\/strong> entered (<strong>up to four, for a maximum of $20<\/strong>).
