At least I hope so.\u00a0 That means it is time to hit the trails.\u00a0 I love trail running, especially now when the prospect of getting muddy isn\u2019t just a hope but a reality.\u00a0 I can\u2019t think of any other sport I participate in that is better at bringing out the kid in me.\u00a0 Spring trail running provides the best excuse to get muddy, splash through streams, and scrabble over trees and rocks.\u00a0 Such fun!<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/pfeiffernaturecenter.org\/nature-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/running-neck-neck.jpg\" width=\"421\" height=\"336\" \/>Trail running also reminds me of how lucky I am to live here.\u00a0 Not only are there so many great trails to run, but there are lots of great trail running races.\u00a0 One of my favorites is Pfeiffer Nature Center\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/woodswalk.net\" target=\"_blank\">Woods Walk and Trail Run<\/a>.\u00a0 The 10 mile run is not too long and not too short and just the right level of <strong>CHALLENGE<\/strong>.\u00a0 I love the tough climbs, the perfect excuse for me to walk, the screaming descents, and the fantastic views, yet another great excuse to slow down or even stop.\u00a0 Honestly, Pfeiffer\u2019s 10 mile course is a tough one.\u00a0 That\u2019s why I love it andwhy so many other trail runners love it.\u00a0 Of course any trail run is a wonderful opportunity to talk with other trail runners, find out about upcoming trail races (check out the <a href=\"http:\/\/easterngrip.com\" target=\"_blank\">Eastern Grip Trail Running Series<\/a>), and just have fun.<\/p>\n<p>When I think Pfeiffer Nature Center&#8217;s <strong>Woods Walk &amp; Trail Run<\/strong>, I think fun, food, and family.\u00a0 Just past the finish line there is a food tent with lots and lots of yummy food.\u00a0 In past years there have been massages for aching muscles and neat birds to look at.<\/p>\n<p><strong>So come run Pfeiffer.<\/strong>\u00a0 It\u2019s June 1st, there are a variety of activities, both walks and runs.\u00a0 It\u2019s a perfect way to spend the day with your family and friends.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It\u2019s spring!
