4th Annual New Year’s Day Hike for your Health

Tuesday, January 1st Hike Start Time: 10 am    Hike Length: 1 hr.

“When snow falls, nature listens.” Antoinette Van Kleeff

Looking for a great way to enjoy nature and the benefits of some outdoor exercise?  Then join us on our 4th annual winter’s day hike at Pfeiffer Nature Center! The hike will be moderately strenuous- which, in terms of exercise means you will be able to talk but not sing during the activity.  The trek is NOT an interpretive hike so stops will not be made along the trails.  Any sharing of information will occur as casual, friendly banter amongst the participants.   This hike will take place at the Lillibridge Preserve.  1974 Lillibridge Rd., Portville.  The hike is free to the public and will take place rain or shine.  The hike will be canceled if we are experiencing extreme weather conditions.   Minors must be accompanied by an adult. Pre-registration is not required.  For more information contact Pfeiffer Nature Center Administration Office 716-933-0187 or visit our website at www.pfeiffernaturecenter.org Pfeiffer Nature Center is supported by United Way funding.  Pfeiffer Nature Center- Where Science, Art & Nature Come Together.

Drawing the Basic Bird

Saturday, January 12th Program Start Time: 10:30 am Program Length: 1 hr.

Join Pfeiffer Nature Center volunteer and renowned local artist Jennifer Miller as she describes and demonstrates the basics of drawing birds! While this program is aimed at those wishing to learn how to draw birds, anyone may attend, and participants are welcome to draw along, take notes, or just sit back and watch how a bird is “put together”. If you’d like to draw along, be sure to bring your favorite drawing tool(s) and some paper or a sketchbook.
